Survival Swim Skills - Serving the Metro Detroit Area

Survival swimming skills for children 6 months–6 years

Anna Anderson "Mrs. Anna"

Anna is an Infant Swimming Resource (ISR) program serving the Metro Detroit area, providing ISR Self-Rescue™ swim lessons for children ages 6 months to 6 years. Her focus goes beyond “water comfort”—she builds water competence and independence first, teaching practical survival swimming skills designed to help a child move, rest, and breathe effectively in the water.

Lessons are taught with positive reinforcement and age- and skill-appropriate coaching so children can progress safely and confidently. Parents are supported throughout the process and invited into the pool after completion to learn how to practice skills correctly, with refresher and maintenance options recommended as children grow.

PARENT TESTIMONIALS

I will advocate for Anna L Anderson and ISR Metro Detroit - Survival Swim the remainder of my life! To know my girls have been given the skills to save themselves is priceless. Every time we go in the pool (or any body of water) I always make sure they show me their float! Thank you, Ms. Anna! 💞

We are so thankful for Mrs Anna! Tomorrow we conclude Evelyn’s 6 week Survival Swim lesson through ISR, and this video is the result of E girl being brave every morning and working hard toward being able to rescue herself in the water. She can now swim a short distance and bring herself into a float. In an emergency situation, this can be the line between life and death for a toddler. Making the decision to put Evelyn through this course and continuing with maintenance lessons through the winter and spring bring me a sense of calm as a parent and I recommend this course to others who have littles at home. Every layer of safety helps and I only look forward to her skills strengthening over time.
